In Your Silence, Lord
I've asked myself questions, seeking to see, trying to grasp what’s hidden from me. And a hurricane within me cries, shouting aloud: "Where are You when my soul sighs?" Each morning, Your love pours over me, each night, I sing and bend my knee. I lift up my prayers; to You, I cling, for in Your presence, my soul will sing. I remind myself, when hope feels thin: "Do not be discouraged—your strength is in Him." Yet the world will judge, degrade, and defy, tearing me down with a heart turned dry. They speak of faith but wield it as stone, using Your name to cast me alone. They forget the truth once declared before: "Why see the speck, yet your own sin ignore?" Each heart bears a cross, a weight to endure, with every step, it feels more unsure. I've mastered sorrow, learned through pain, humiliation, trials, yet faith remains. True faith restores, embraces, revives— it does not wound, nor cast out lives. For Christ’s own message, pure and bright, is mercy, grace, and love’s true light. At the end of the day, my soul finds rest, in God’s eternal love, I am blessed. There’s nothing I do, nothing I say, that could make Him love me more or stray. "The Lord sees not as men demand, but looks within, where hearts expand." So I lay down and trust in You, hold me close and guide me through. Do not turn Your gaze away, teach me to love in Your pure way. Fill me with kindness, truth, and grace, for in You alone, I find my place. I know You are here in the quiet air, in a piece of bread, in a whispered prayer. I have promised to follow, though I don’t understand, and even without feeling, I'll seek Your hand. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not lack, in His promise, I never look back. For His plans are good, His love is sure, a future of hope that will endure. Amen.
